A letter received from Paul Smith, November 18, 2003
A while back I was given a copy of your “Love You Madly” CD. I was impressed with your musicianship and the lovely sound you make. … From a musician’s standpoint, it’s a delightful album. …If I could find one thing that I would change it’s the fact that there isn’t really enough of you. … No one in the current crop of singers can touch you vocally … I wish you much success and look forward to your next CD with more YOU!
Regards, Paul
Paul T. Smith, according to critics, defines jazz piano in America. In Europe, the Jazz Dictionary calls him "the greatest pianist from America."
Just to name a few, Mr. Smith has recorded and played for Pearl Bailey, Rosemary Clooney, Edie Adams, Joni James, Toni Tennille, and Mel Torme
Mr. Smith also served as pianist for Sammy Davis Jr., and spent eleven years as pianist/conductor for Ella Fitzgerald.

Dear Cindy,
WOW! What a wonderful workshop you did for my ON STAGE kids. They don’t know how lucky they are to have had the privilege of seeing your show and meeting you. I feel especially fortunate for having had the opportunity of being there. What a treat!
I want to thank you so much for being part of my ON STAGE program this year and for sharing your time and great talent with us.

“...When Cindy steps into the spotlight, you wonder if this wisp of a lady can do anything beyond a whisper. Far from it. She can belt out a song like Ethel Merman, give a tune the Barbra Streisand treatment, or bring a tear a la Judy Garland. Sing she can—everything from opera to the hits of Broadway with jazz and scat too. Acting, choreography, musical arranging, and directing have all played a role in this young lady’s life.”
Lee Alderman, Jewish Home of Rochester

Cindy has what I call a “classic” voice—which makes for nice listening - mix it with the absolute first class accompaniment—and it’s a very special CD.

Dear Ms. Miller, to hear your wonderful voice for the first time is to joyously discover one of the finest jazz & bossa nova vocalists of our times. You were blessed with a rich voice ( wonderful range!) .
Your CD has been very well received by the listeners. As usual, by phone, they choose their favorite tracks: "Love You Madly", "Always" (a lovely bossa nova flavor; your swing is overwhelming!), "It Don't Mean A Thing" (masterful, your interpretation), "Our Love Is Here To Stay", "One Note Samba" (of course!), "A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square" (yesterday, today and tomorrow, one of my favorite songs; I love this song), and "Someone To Light Up My Life" (the original title, you know, "Se Todos Fossem Iguais A Você"; Jobim is a genius, a Brazilian Cole Porter or Gershwin).
Without doubt, you are one of world's top vocalists on the current jazz & bossa nova scene. You have a sensuous and melodic voice. Your phrasing is precise. To hear you sing "A Nightingale..." is a real pleasure
Last but not least, you worked with a contingent of gifted musicians. Mr. Rosenthal, for example, is one of the major piano talents of our day, as are Mr. Oatts, and Mr. Leonhart, too. Mr. Bertoncini (swing is his other name), too. Mr. Mackrel, too. In short: you and your sidemen are superb artists.
A Brazilian hug from your fan,
João da Penha, Radio, Teresopolis, Brasil
